Dr. Joanna Carrega is the Program Chair for the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program at the University of Phoenix. With over 30 years of extensive experience in professional nursing practice and nursing education, Dr. Carrega has expertise in various academic and leadership roles. Throughout her career, Dr. Carrega has educated students across multiple levels of nursing education, including the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSN), and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs.
Dr. Carrega's clinical expertise is deeply rooted in maternal child health nursing, where she has contributed significantly to improving patient care through clinical research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives. In addition to her academic responsibilities, Dr. Carrega serves as a research educator and consultant for Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where she continues to influence the nursing profession through her contributions to research and clinical practice. Dr. Carrega is committed to excellence in nursing education and mentoring the next generation of nursing professionals.
