Preventing Violence in the Hospital and Community

In this CNO roundtable, you’ll hear how two CNOs
transformed the way they do patient rounding to improve the rounding
process and patient experience. They’ll share how documenting, reporting
and trending on patient-rounding data in real time impacted these
efforts–and provide valuable insights into implementing and managing the
rounding program.

- Karen Drenkard, Ph.D., RN, NEA-BC, FAAN
Dr. Karen
Drenkard brings her nationally recognized nursing experience to
GetWellNetwork as chief clinical officer and chief nurse. In this role,
Karen leads the development of a nursing model designed to enhance the
patient experience through clinical practices and technology solutions
in any care setting. Karen was most recently executive director of the
American Nurses Credentialing Center and former director of the Magnet
Recognition Program®. Prior to that, Karen was chief nurse of the Inova
Health Care system in Virginia.
- Kristin Schmidt, DNP, MBA, RN, NEA-BC, CENP, CPHQ, FACHE
Dr.
Kristin Schmidt is the Chief Nursing Officer at Desert Regional
Medical Center in Palm Springs, California. Previously, Schmidt was
Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services at
John C. Lincoln Deer Valley Hospital.
She also has held the Chief
Nursing Officer position at IASIS Healthcare and held executive roles,
including Chief Executive Officer, at Arizona Spine and Joint Hospital.
- Kathy Burkey, RN, MSN
Kathy Burkey is the Chief
Nursing Officer of Grand View Health, a private, non-profit hospital in
Sellersville, PA. In Kathy’s leadership role, she’s shaping the process
and design of care at Grand View. Previously Kathy was the Vice
President of Nursing at Sacred Heart Hospital and Chief Nursing Officer
at Warminster Hospital.
