Lauren Simpson is a dedicated Nursing Professional Development Specialist with expertise in supporting new graduate nurses as they transition into professional practice. In her current role, she works with The University of Texas MD Anderson New Graduate Nurse Residency Program, where she designs, facilitates, and evaluates evidence-based educational experiences to enhance clinical competence, critical thinking, and professional growth.
With a passion for fostering a culture of lifelong learning and professional excellence, Lauren collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure new graduate nurses receive comprehensive support as they integrate into their clinical roles. Her areas of focus include competency development, mentorship, preceptor and peer support, and innovative teaching strategies to promote safe, high-quality patient care.
Lauren holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus in Nursing Education and is a certified Oncology Nurse (OCN). She is an active member of ONS and ANPD where she contributes to advancing the specialty of nursing professional development.
