Bio Overview

I currently serve as the Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer at Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital, a 410 high acuity acute care hospital within Emory Healthcare.

With more than 20 years in nursing leadership, I have provided strategic oversight for nursing practice, clinical operations, patient safety and quality, and the patient experience while championing innovation in care delivery spanning inpatient and outpatient practices. Throughout my career, I have led numerous transformative initiatives, including implementation of the eICU program, tele-stroke and tele-psychiatry services, and successfully growing a busy cardiac service line inclusive of heart transplantation and supporting the development of the largest Faith Community Program in the country.  More recently, I initiated the expansion of inpatient virtual nursing, leveraging technology to support bedside caregivers and enhance patient and family experiences and participated in an Apple Innovation project leading to the first full Apple Hospital Implementation at one of the Emory Hospitals.

I am passionate about shared governance and empowering frontline nurses to influence clinical decision-making. Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital achieved its seventh ANCC Magnet® designation and the prestigious Magnet with Distinction® recognition, becoming the first hospital in the world to earn this distinction.

I have been honored to receive the Daisy Leader Award and the March of Dimes Nurse Leader of the Year Award. I have presented at regional, national and international conferences on nursing leadership, innovation, and professional practice. I am currently serving as a practice representative on the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Board of Directors.
