I am an adult nurse practitioner in Eugene, OR, employed by PeaceHealth Medical Group. I graduated from Saint Louis University with a Master of Science in Nursing in 2008 and earned his Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Portland in 2015. I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Healthcare Administration: Organizational Leadership degree through Grand Canyon University. My current clinical practice focuses on the primary care issues of an older adult population. After joining PeaceHealth, I advocated increasing the presence of nurse practitioners within the organization's leadership structure and was named section chief of the PeaceHealth Barger clinic location in 2014. In 2020, I sought changes in the position requirements for the primary care division chief role to allow a nurse practitioner to fill that position. As a result, I was named primary care division chief in 2020.
I currently serve on the executive board of the PeaceHealth ACO Reach and Clinically Integrated Network entities and chair the Oregon executive board of the Clinically Integrated Council. I also serve as the advanced practice clinician representative on the PeaceHealth Center of Medical Education and Research leadership committee and, in 2022, was able to obtain approval for NP preceptors to receive compensation for their work with students, similar to that provided to physicians.
